Jeffco PTA Now Offers TWO Alternatives for Setting Up Online Payments for Your School PTA

Online Payment Processing permits parents to pay for PTA activities and fundraiser's with an electronic check or a credit card using an Internet-based payment form linked to your School and / or School PTA website.  Funds are credited to and fees are deducted from your PTA bank account automatically. Save time and money, reduce errors and decrease the insecurity of cash payments by processing more PTA transactions online for:
  • PTA membership dues (include parent, student, teacher, staff, and business types)
  • Donations (always make this item available year-round to increase PTA funding!
  • After school programs
  • Field trips
  • Fundraising events
Other Recommendations: Although some School PTAs charge a convenience fee for online payments, this is not recommended, as it has been found to depress sales up to 400%! Instead, slightly increase registration fees and other prices to account for the percentage of sales expected to be conducted online.  Even if accepting electronic checks only seems like a good option, don't! - over 90% of online transactions are conducted by credit card, so accepting checks only will greatly reduce your sales, too.
Introduced by Jeffco PTA in 2007, MyPaynet (see info below) is used by over 20 Jeffco PTAs. It permits the development of customized payment forms that can capture additional data about the user, in addition to payment information. Introduced by Jeffco PTA in June 2009, PaySchools (see info below) is used by Jeffco Public Schools to pay book fees, so once a parent enters contact and student info for either the School or the PTA, it's available for both payment systems.

To create a PTA registration form: Parent, Teacher, Grandparent, Staff, Student, and Business Member categories can be implemented as check off options and an additional item added to permit a donation. To create a PTA registration form: Create Membership Category and add each membership type as a separate shopping cart item to select from and add an additional item to the category to accept a donation during sign up.

School PTA payment processing with no upfront fees

PaySchools is an online payment service that allows parents to securely pay for PTA expenses via credit card or electronic check using an Internet-based shopping cart.  Jeffco Public Schools also uses Pay Schools, so parents who have already paid student book fees online, can use their same contact and student information to pay PTA fees, if their PTA also chooses to use PaySchools, as well. Joining PaySchools does not involve obtaining a merchant credit account; members are members of PaySchools only, which manages all banking and credit arrangements seamlessly for your School PTA itself. Your School PTA is charged 3.5% per transaction, no matter what kind of transaction it is, check or credit card.  PaySchools does not charge any monthly or annual fees, regardless of a School PTA's number of transactions; there are no minimums.  Funds for all transactions settle after just 4 days directly to your PTA’s bank account. Setting up categories and items in PaySchools is so simple that the system is usually ready to accept payments in just a few hours. All PaySchools system administrative training and support is free, too!
