JEFFCO

JCPTA Legislative Chair - Mark Flora, mark-flora@comcast.net

PTA began as an advocacy organization focusing on important initiatives like good nutrition for children, literacy and adequate school funding.  Jeffco PTA contributes to this advocacy tradition through active members like you. Here are some areas in which your voice is important:

Being a PTA Legislative Representative

Jeffco PTA encourages each school to have a legislative representative who can be the “go to” expert on process and the person who can organize parents at the school on issues important to them. This person is kept informed regularly regarding state-wide and district-wide policy initiatives.

If you are interested, please talk to your local PTA President and e-mail mark-flora@comcast.net

Jeffco Legislative Forum - http://jeffcoweb.jeffco.k12.co.us/legis/

The Jeffco Legislative Forum consists of members from Jeffco PTA, JCEA (Jefferson County Education Association), JCAA (Jefferson County Administrators Association), CSEA (Classified & Service Employees Association) and the Jeffco Board of Education/Administration.  The Forum takes positions on bills before the Colorado General Assembly when there is consensus among the member organizations.  If you would like to be a part of the Jeffco Forum representing your local PTA and Jeffco PTA, please contact Mark Flora at mark-flora@comcast.net.
